As soon as we stepped into the Drogarati Cave, we felt the temperature plunge. Honestly, it felt like nature was giving us a refreshing, cold drink on the spot. The cave pulls you in with its refreshing break from the blazing Greek sun. So, it’s no surprise we ended up staying longer, enjoying the cave’s natural coolness. With a steady, cool temperature of around 16 degrees Celsius, the cave was our perfect escape.

Drogarati Cave sits patiently near the village of Sami. TSpotting it on our route to Sami, we quickly realized it was the perfect break. While it’s tucked away from busy tourist spots, a heads-up for you: by afternoon, the scene can change. The location is away from the bustling tourist hubs. However, a word to the wise: the afternoons can get bustling, especially with the arrival of tourist buses.

How do you get to Drogarati Cave?

On our Kefalonia visit, we got a car to move around easily. Want to spend less? There are bus tours going to Drogarati Cave. You can grab scooters too. But remember, during hot days, the sun can be harsh.

We spotted a sign near the entrance, but given everyone was snapping photos, including us, it’s unclear. Did it signify “no cameras”? 🤔

For just 5 euros each, we thought it’s a good deal. You’re buying a pass to a really old world. We found out the fee helps keep the cave safe for others. So, honestly, it’s money well spent!
