Looking for an exciting escapade? Experience the beauty of El Nido and explore its best beaches in just one way! Marimegmeg, Las Cabañas, and Depeldet Island are some of the must-visit places in Palawan. With crystal clear waters and white sand beaches, these destinations will leave you wanting more.
Pro tip:
If you are looking for acommodation honetly look up in this area instead of El Nido Beach or Town. Plan ahead your trip before you running out of options.
1. Vanilla Beach
The first stop on your beach hopping adventure should be Vanilla Beach. This beach is known for its stunning blue-green waters and white sand that stretches as far as the eye can see. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the beach is also lined with tall palm trees, which not only add to the picturesque scenery but also provide ample shade for visitors seeking respite from the scorching sun. In fact, these trees are just one of the many features that make this beach such an appealing destination for travelers of all ages.
Entering Vanilla Beach
This is the entry point of Vanilla Beach. You can park your scooter next to the building and follow the path where you can see security. When we were there we walked through many empty and abandoned shops. We assume back in the day before covid the shops must be running. In January 2023 when we visited there was 1 gym, 1 massage place, 2 boutiques, and a few restaurants open. There are no fees for entering Vanilla beach.
2. Maremegmeg Beach
Maremegmeg beach is located next to Vanilla beach if you continue walking to the left. In this area, you can see quite some fancy accommodations, restaurants, and bars next to the beach. The beach itself less wider than Vanilla beach and more rocky.
3. Las Cabañas Beach
Once you’ve had your fill at Marimegmeg, hop over to Las Cabañas Beach. There are several restaurants along this stretch of shoreline where you can grab a bite to eat or do some souvenir shopping. Moreover, during our visit, we stumbled upon a snorkeling shop where visitors can easily rent snorkeling masks and even flying foxes to reach Depeldet Island. In stark contrast to Vanilla beach, the water here was relatively shallow and noticeably less crowded. This made it an ideal spot for those who prefer a more tranquil and secluded beach experience.
4. Depeldet Island
Depeldet Island is a tiny islet that is situated in the middle of Bacuit Bay. The island is relatively small, measuring only about 200 meters in length and 100 meters in width. However, despite its size, it packs a lot of natural wonders that are worth exploring. The islet is surrounded by towering limestone cliffs that offer a stunning backdrop to the island. These cliffs also provide visitors with a unique and picturesque spot for taking photos and admiring the breathtaking scenery.
5. Conclusion
El Nido is definitely a place worth exploring with its many stunning beaches that offer something for everyone – from swimming to snorkeling to trekking to simply lounging around taking in nature’s beauty. In one day alone, you can visit Vanilla Beach, Marimegmeg Beach, Las Cabañas Beach, and Depeldet Island – four of El Nido’s best attractions that will surely give you an unforgettable experience! So what are you waiting for?
