1. Finding a Laundry Service
The first step is finding an affordable laundry service. This is usually quite simple as there are many around – just ask locals at your accommodation or look around in local areas. Prices will vary depending on the size and weight of your load; smaller loads cost less, while larger loads cost more. Generally speaking, laundry services in Indonesia are quite cheap compared to other countries.
Our laundry service of choice in Canggu is Just Laundry. We love the personal service and the quality of the washing. Usually, we take the 24 hours service, which costs 10.000 IDR/kg which is around 0,60€/kg. After a few times, they even remembered my name :)
2. Determine Your Needs
Once you’ve found a laundry service, you need to decide what kind of service you want. Most offer basic washing and drying services which can take up to 24 hours; some offer express services which can have your clothes washed and dried within 6-12 hours; while others offer even faster same-day services where they will wash and dry your clothes within 1-2 hours! The downside with same-day services is that they tend to be more expensive but still better than having no clean clothes at all!
It depends on your time.
It also depends on how much time you have – if you’re only staying for a few days then it may be worth it to pay extra for express or same-day services so that you can get your clothes back quickly. If you’re staying longer then it might be best to opt for the more economical option.
3. How much does the laundry service cost?
The cost of laundry services in Indonesia can vary greatly depending on the size and weight of your load. Generally speaking, the cost per kilogram is cheaper than other countries, but it still depends on the type of service you choose. For basic washing and drying services, the average cost in Canggu, Bali is between 8.000-10.000 Rupiah (approximately 0,50€-0,60€) per kilogram. Express services can cost more depending on the location. If you are on an island or a touristic area you can expect to pay up to 50.000 IDR (3,30€) or even more per kg for an express service.

4. Tips for washing your clothes in Indonesia when using a laundry service.
Watch out for good clothing items that might shrink or lose color during the wash cycle – these items should be hand washed instead. It might also be worth asking the staff at the laundromat what their process is like and whether they use special detergents that could potentially damage delicate fabrics or change colors over time. It pays to be aware before sending any special clothing items off!
In addition, the laundry shops usually ask for your name. This is how they keep the clothes separate. Make sure to keep the receipt if any questions may arise later on.
Conclusion
