We did just that and we made some amazing friends in the process – talk about having good vibes on arrival.

We chose the Maayong hostel for its close proximity to beaches, bars and restaurants – but still in a peaceful area of town. The room was compact; however, after such an extended journey, it provided us with much-needed restful sleep! In the restaurant section there is plenty of space – complete with hammock if you fancy lounging around awhile longer….the only slight snag may come when they start playing music at an early hour – though don’t worry if this affects your slumber too much as staff are usually happy to lower volume levels upon request!

Day 1 – Sardine Run

To go Sardine Run it was just walking distance from our accommodation. The Sardine Run, located in Moalboal Cebu, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and should not be missed. Pro tips:

To ensure you get the best out of it try to dive or snorkel in the morning when there is better visibility due lack of sun. The strong currents can also make things tricky during afternoons so save that adventure for another time.

Day 2 – Kawasan Falls Canyoneering

Kawasan Falls Canyoneering in Moalboal can vary in height, with some cliffs reaching up to 15 meters high although when we were there in January 2023 seems doesn’t run due to safety reasons. However, there are also smaller jumps available for those who are not comfortable with heights. Your guide will assess your abilities and lead you to the most appropriate spots for your level of comfort. Read our ultimate guide article about our experience on Kawasan Falls Canyoneering.
