After our lively stay in Lassi, we found ourselves drawn to the quieter charm of Sami. It’s amazing how one island can offer such diverse experiences! In Sami, every corner seemed to whisper tales of nature, history, and serene beach moments. As we ventured from the beautiful caves to the famed Antisamos Beach, we realized this was a journey worth sharing. So, come along as we share our day trip from Sami to Antisamos and all the wonders to expect!
How to get from Sami to Antisamos Beach?
Navigating from Sami to Antisamos Beach is straightforward. A short car drive, roughly 12 minutes, will get you there. But it’s not just about the destination; the journey itself is a visual treat. Lush landscapes blend seamlessly with the deep blue of the sea.
Is Antisamos Beach Sandy?
Unfortunately not! While Antisamos Beach might have more pebbles than sand, the good news is they won’t cling to your skin. Transitioning from the shore to the water, we found the sea refreshingly cool, perfect for escaping the midday heat. Moreover, renting a beach seat here is more affordable than in the Lassi Beach area. So, not only do you get a unique beach experience, but you also save a bit on the side!
Snorkeling at Antisamos Beach
After reading various articles and scouring Google, we were eager to try snorkeling at Antisamos Beach. However, when we visited in July 2023, the beach had a noticeable amount of algae, turning the waters a shade greener than usual. Locals informed us about this seasonal change. Anyway as we brought our snorkeling masks, we dove in. Impressively, the water remained clear. While we did spot fish close to the shore, the variety wasn’t as diverse as our Snorkeling adventures in Indonesia. Here, we encountered just a couple of fish species and no corals. Nevertheless, the experience was unique and worth the dive. So, if you’re considering snorkeling, Antisamos Beach is definitely worth a shot!
Beach Bars at Antisamos
To our pleasant surprise, Antisamos Beach isn’t short on beach bars! We counted several as we strolled along the shore. Each has its unique vibe, but all offer a refreshing escape from the sun. Whether you’re in the mood for a cool drink, a light snack, or just some lively tunes, these bars have got you covered.
Things to Do at Antisamos Beach
While we loved lounging by the shore, we saw few activities in the area. There’s something for everyone, from water sports like jet skiing and paddleboarding to banana rides or Antisamos Submarine.
Parking Area
One practical detail we appreciated about Antisamos Beach was the huge area of parking. We easily found a spot for our vehicle, which meant more time on the beach and less time searching for parking.
Everywhere we went in Kefalonia, parking was free, including at Antisamos Beach. However, finding shade was a bit of a challenge. Given the heatwave during our visit, we were on the lookout for some trees to provide a cool spot for our rental car. A little shade would have been sweet on top of our adventure!
Conclusion
Beyond the beaches, our trip to Sami was enriched by the wonders of Melissani Cave and Drogarati Cave. These natural beauties added layers to our journey, making our Sami experience truly unforgettable.
We hope this gives you a snapshot of what to expect on your day out from Sami to Antisamos. Here’s to many more adventures and discoveries!
